are your thoughts keeping you up at night?

When you finally finish your day and look forward to a good night sleep;  do you find your thoughts racing and getting anxious?  Why does that happen, because when the nighttime comes there is nothing to occupy our minds, to keep us busy.  A technique I use that has gotten a lot of success is to focus on your breathing, feel your breath coming in and out.  Then visualize yourself at the beach, at a lake, in the mountains, wherever you feel peaceful.  Use all your senses to go there, feel it, hear it, taste it, smell it, see it.  Keep focusing on that place and say one work that describes it over and over again.  So you will feel yourself relax and going to sleep.  If you find your mind wandering while you do this, it is alright, just keep going back to it.  Repeat this exercise many times and eventually you will find that if you are feeling anxious during the day, if you say the word you have repeated, you will relax.  Let me know how it works, remember, it takes repeating it to stick, and it is okay if your mind wanders.
